Community guide · Montgomery County
A residential Lower Merion community next to the Philadelphia city line, with its own train station.

Merion Station, often called Merion, is a community in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, just west of the Philadelphia city line and City Avenue. It is mostly residential, with tree-lined streets.
The Barnes Arboretum and Merion Botanical Park are in the community, and Saint Joseph's University and the City Avenue business district are just to the east.
Predominantly single-family homes: stone and stucco colonials, Tudor Revival houses and some Victorians from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with apartments and condominiums near City Avenue.
Merion Station developed early as a railroad suburb. Streets near the station include planned neighborhoods such as Merion Park, with stone and stucco houses from the early 20th century. Lots tend to be larger than in Narberth or Bala Cynwyd but smaller than in Gladwyne.
Older houses here often have original systems and stone foundations.
