Haverford is a community that spans Lower Merion Township in Montgomery County and Haverford Township in Delaware County. It should not be confused with Havertown, a separate community in Haverford Township.
Haverford College and its arboretum occupy a large campus here. The Haverford train station is on the Paoli/Thorndale Line, and the Norristown High Speed Line has a Haverford stop.
Early-20th-century stone and stucco colonials, Tudor Revival and Victorian houses, many on generous lots, with some twins, condominiums and newer homes.
Many Haverford streets were laid out in the early 1900s, and the stone colonials, Tudor Revival houses and Victorians from that era set the character. Lot sizes vary widely, from compact lots near the station to larger properties to the north and west.
Lower Merion and Haverford Township differ on taxes, zoning and schools, so check the parcel, not the mailing address.
